Description
- COURSE FULL - You've perhaps learnt or read a bit about Permaculture, but where do you start with actually putting all those design principles and techniques into action? This course gives you the confidence and enthusiasm to put all that theory into practice. Over this weekend you will help design and implement a Permaculture system for an inner-city backyard using simple, effective techniques and basic materials. During this course you will learn how to apply pro-active, sustainable design techniques specifically to the urban habitat. Aspects covered include intensive, small-scale organic food production, waste re-cycling, catching and storing water in your system and designing effectively within the constraints of the urban backyard. A dynamic mix of theory and practice will see the participants of this weekend course transform one small urban backyard from a patch of scruffy turf and pavers into a functional Permaculture system - all ready to roll. Come along and get activated to transform your habitat to better provide for yourself, your family and the planet. A jam-packed weekend of information, techniques, ideas on how to approach a sustainable and positive community existence within your neighbourhood, and of course a healthy dose of hands-on action.
This course will be taught by Nick Ritar, an award-winning educator of community technologies and strategies for communication, and co-founder of Milkwood Permaculture, providing practical, ecological, do-able solutions for sustainable living and development. This is the very first time that this course has been offered in Sydney - so come along, and start your process of skilling-up for adaptation in a changing world.... Course fee: $240
The classic text Introduction to Permaculture by Bill Mollison (RRP $41.70) is included in your course fee at no extra charge, to help get you started and keep you inspired when implementing what you learn at this course into your own habitat. Course fee also includes morning + afternoon tea on both days (made with organic produce from our own Milkwood Farm wherever possible). Venue
