A two-day, weekend course on the south coast of NSW. Introducing the principles of Permaculture, as it applies to inner-city, suburban and rural environments. Come learn sustainable design techniques in a beautiful seaside setting.

 Over this weekend you will learn how to apply sustainable design techniques to your immediate environment, whether that's an inner city apartment, a quarter-acre block, or a thousand acre farm. Covering organic food production, system design (and re-design) for comfort and lower energy consumption as well as techniques to approach the basic problems we all face.

Come and learn how to better care and provide for yourself, your family and the planet. A jam-packed weekend of information, techniques, practical hints and great piles of local food, all within the beautiful surrounds of the Kiama coast.

This course will be taught by Nick Ritar, an award-winning educator of community technologies and strategies for communication, and co-founder of Milkwood Permaculture, providing practical, ecological, do-able solutions for sustainable living and development.

Course fee includes all educational materials, two generous lunches, and all the tea, coffee and snacks you will need while thinking, learning and absorbing this great two day course.

Course dates: Saturday 15th + Sunday 16th December, 2007
Course times: 9.30am - 5pm each day

Location & Travel

Getting there by train: Kiama is 2 hours journey on the South Coast line from Sydney Central - the venue is an easy 5 minutes walk from the train station in the centre of town.
Getting there by car: Kiama is 90 minutes drive south of Sydney - map + directions
 
Kiama is a small, georgeous seaside town resplendant with fresh produce, fresh fish and fresh air. The course venue is in the park in the middle of town, and overlooks Kiama harbour. A beautiful ocean rockpool is 5 minutes walk from the course venue, so don't forget to bring your swimmers.

Kiama is surrounded by remnants of rare littoral rainforest , including the beautiful Minnamurra Falls park. And of course, the Kiama Blowhole.
